I have to make some tea sandwiches for this thing on Saturday. I'm thinking pimento cheese and chicken salad. That sounds right, right? I also thought about making my own pain de mie from Mastering The Art Of French Cooking, Vol. II because Julia says it's impossible to make truly professional looking hors d'oeuvres sandwiches with regular bread, but, um, yeah. I have my limits. Although who knows, the Martha in me may strike Friday and I may be compelled to make sandwiches with bread I baked myself and fillings made with my own homemade mayonnaise.
